WHAT TO BRING

Your visit and your schedule will be pretty much up to you. When you are working, you will need some strong footwear (rubber boots work great), work gloves, long pants, flashlight, sun hat and sunglasses. Sunscreen, bugspray , vitamin B and garlic pills are a good idea. Our property is not good for people in poor health, allergies or mosquito sensitivity. So do plan accordingly.

PLAN ACCORDINGLY

We want your visit to be pleasant and happy. If you have questions or concerns, do not hesitate to let us know ahead of time. We will make every effort to see that you are comfortable. But please understand that sometimes the unexpected occurs, so we will need to work together to resolve any difficulties. Please note that your deposit is refundable only after completion of the worktrade agreement. Once you check in and sign the agreement, there are no refunds for your stay. Please read all our information on our website ahead of time. We want all communication to be clear. If you are coming here because this seems like a cheap alternative to a hotel and you are expecting those type of amenities for the "volunteer vacation" price then please make arrangements to either stay in one of our upgraded accommodations or in a nearby B & B.

GARDEN MAINTENANCE

We are in a rainforest. Most of the work here is outdoors, and often it is wet. We also have a year round growing season, which means that plants grow quickly. Much of the work here involves removing weeds and invasive species. Be prepared to get dirty. Be prepared to get wet. Be prepared to hang with some animals. You will not be asked to do anything we don't want to do, but you are expected to help.

PLANTS & VEGETABLES

We do not use any pesticides or chemicals on any of our food grown here. Everything is lovingly nurtured by our animals: the donkey, the goat, chickens and bunnies. We grow some of the most delicious and nutritious food you will ever eat right here on this property! We are very proud of our little paradise, and hope you will enjoy being part of the process.
